Does any African American women on here know of any really GREAT products that stimulates hair growth??Help!?

My hair was very long and it fell out March 2008 and everybody noticed because I had such beautiful hair for a black girl. So I wore weaves from June-September 2008 took it out and used Dr. Miracles which didn't do anything then I put in a straight remy weave the first day of November then I got another one right after in February. Now I want to take it out again and treat it. Anyone have any good experience with certain products? Don't mention Dr. Miracles. Thankyou. Usually the product doesn't matter but your daily hair routine and diet does. Stress, an unhealthy diet, and bad hair habits can contribute to hair loss and lack of growth.

Washing your hair on a weekly basis regardless of what is in or on your hair very important. Weekly deep conditioning also is very important when growing hair.

Organics Root Stimulator products are really good in moisturizing the hair without weighing it down. And when you're getting your weave, tell the stylist to not braid tight and use a net so they aren't sewing wefts right onto your hair (tight braids and excess weight cause breakage)Does any African American women on here know of any really GREAT products that stimulates hair growth??Help!?
There's Mega-Tek cell rebuilder or Ovation Cell Therapy which can assist you with growing your hair.

You might want to visit Long Hair Care Forum, there's a lot of information that can help you with that too.
Theres;

Super Gro

Olive Oil

and Aloe Vera Super Grow ( it works really good.ive grown like 3 or 4 inches in the last month.)
First off...don't ever in your breathing days say that you had anything that was really nice, beautiful, etc. ';for a black girl';. It sounds self-hating, and suggests that black women don't typically have long or pretty hair. I can tell you, as a person who has a wide range of shades and skin tones in my family, that that notion is not true. I have women in my family who have long, thick hair and are dark skinned, light skinned, etc., and some who have short or natural hair, and they run the spectrum in skin tones. I don't care if I get a billion thumbs down, you just need to know how ignorant (both rude, and uneducated), you sound with your line of questioning. It's the reason why so many of our young black girls have image issues.

Now...if you want the pretty hair to grow back:

-Organic root stimulator products, specifically the carrot cream which is really great for growing in thinning hair, and sealing split ends. A lot of factors will determine what works best for you. It's really based on your skin and scalp type. You can also visit a salon for a professional consultation, they are usually free. Please be ready for the stylist to give you a lecture about that weave, whether it was put in professionally or not (I assume it was not, otherwise, you could ask your stylist what to do about your issue, and not YA).

They have lots of chemical and non chemical based treatments that would be a big help to restoring your hair. In the meantme though, you could try the line of products I mentioned. I personally feel that they work very well, and smell very good. I too have very long and thick hair, some of which died off about 3 years ago when I added highlights, but didnt take care of my hair. In 3 months after starting on these products, I was back to basics. To give you an example of my hair type, I've been told I look like Keisha Kight Pulliam.

Hope that helps.

Start messaging your scalp with he balls of your fingers. This helps the blood to circulate which stimulates the hair follicles which promotes hair growth.

While you are messaging your scalp use a hair oil/hair dressing/hair creme that contains natural herbs, vitamins.

This method does work. I message my scalp at least three times a week and have noticed quite a bit of new growth. More than usual.

Try using Mane 'N Tail Shampoo and Conditioner and Carrot Oil Creme.PLeaseee helppp with stimulating hair growth and stop makin my hair fall out?
I don't think it is normal at your age to be losing that much hair .I think you need to see a doctor this could just be a symptom of an underlying disorder. As for your suicide threat how do you think chemo patients feel about losing ALL their hair, I can tell you they are just so grateful to be alive.

You need to see a dermatologist or preferably, a nutritionist immediately. This is a sign that something is seriously wrong - you need bloodwork taken to determine if all your levels are correct. You may have a serious deficiency in something important to bodily functions. It could also be a disease where you lose patches of hair, supposedly a lot of people think that is stress related. Using shampoos full of SLS (most shampoos on the market) does nothing but dry out your hair and add unnecessary chemicals to your body. I only use SLS free shampoos now, such as Jason or Desert Essence Organics. Kiss my face has some great smelling varieties of shampoo and conditioners. Don't use hairspray and don't ';tease'; your hair - they only make things worse when you are in a bad situation like this. The main thing is - get your money together and get to a dermatologist and/or nutritionist immediately, something is not right. Buy some cute hats in the meantime, but only wear them when you have to, as you need to let your scalp ';breathe';. This isn't something you should try to solve yourself, it could be a serious health issue!
Your using to many different shampoos. Stick with one good shampoo. To help your hair grow you can use DooGro or Dr. Miracle. Go to a dermatologist and figure out if there is a problem with your scalp. Its is very important to shampoo at least 3 times a week. use conditioner at least 1 every week. Your hair is fine and strong shampoo is not for you. You should ask a dermatologist. They're a big help.

Badly damaged hair breaks at the scalp. To treat hair loss apply a little lemon juice with some black tea. Massage well and shampoo.Rub oil into the scalp. Wring out a towel in hot water and wrap it on the head. Keep it on for 15 minutes. Shampoo and dry well. Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/ for more info.

----->HEY U...what STIMULATES hair growth...?<-----?

Thanks...I am an ethnic female and wish to know what products you have personal experience with and know for a fact will stimulate hair growth. My hair is long but seems thin and I know it's because of breakage and shedding. As a child I had thick ';pretty'; hair and it's still in good shape but I want to stimulate the growth in areas where my hair has thinned...ie...the top of my head and sides of my head as well. I want to point out that growing hair isn't the problem it's to my mid back and grows like water. My concern is that basicaly due to years of wearing tight buns my hair has thinned out in the front and on the top. What will help this hair come back in? Also when a whole hair folicle shedds and you can see the white root at the tip of the follicle... that hair will come back in ...right? Ultimately my hair seems thin although it is thick...what stimulates growth. Peppermint shampoo, organic root stimulator irritated my skin when used as directed. What else is out there?-----%26gt;HEY U...what STIMULATES hair growth...?%26lt;-----?
The hair loss may be caused by an underactive thyroid gland. The thyroid hormones are made from iodine and the amino acid, tyrosine. These hormones regulate metabolism in every single cell and your doctor can do a simple basal body temperature test to find out if this is your problem. You might also want to pay a visit to your fishmonger because other natural sources of iodine include clams, lobsters, oysters and sardines.

Regular exercise will also stimulate thyroid gland secretions and increase the sensitivity of your body鈥檚 tissues, including your hair follicles, to the thyroid hormones.

';Evening Primrose Oil'; ... it can help restore hair loss due to low thyroid.-----%26gt;HEY U...what STIMULATES hair growth...?%26lt;-----?

Message your scalp and hair line and temple areas with the balls of your fingers with a hair dressing that contains natural herbs, vitamins and minerals. this will help the blood to circulate, which stimulates the hair follicles which promotes hair growth.
I had the same problem with my hair and I used a hair mask by Lee Stafford that made my hair stronger and abble to grow longer, This really works;

Take the grease that you normally use, add castor oil to it. It really helps with strengthening hair and allowing it to grown in fuller.
I have friends (and my daughter), none of whom were pregnant, but who took over the counter pre-natal vitamins. They really do help it grow! My daughter had cut her hair off to about an inch short all over and wanted it to grow back fast after her style grew out. That was two years ago. Her hair now is well below her shoulders. My co-worker's hair would stop growing once it reached a certain length - the vitamins helped it continue to grow at the same rate as it did when it was shorter.

Can't hurt - and would be good for you!
Plenty of calcium and massaging your scalp with your nails when you wash it will do the trick. Anything else is just the company wanting you to buy their product.

  • Does anyone know a product that's good for stimulating hair growth?

    If you are wanting to rejuvinate the hair follicle, then ANY shampoo/conditioner that promotes that will work. Mane and Tail has the best results. But....if you have male pattern baldness, then these products will not work. You lack a hormone called DHT, and without it the circulation that generates growth in the hair shaft is arrested. See a hair specialist and discuss the options that are available in your financial range. If this isn't a possibility, then don't worry. Losing your hair is not the end of the world. Keep it cut to a length that will blend in with the loss. But...WHATEVER... you do PLEASE don't wear a comb-over or a toupee', they are just unnatural and unattractive.Does anyone know a product that's good for stimulating hair growth?
    There are many different products available, some by prescription and some over the counter. The best way to determine what product might be most helpful would be to see a doctor to determine the cause of the hair loss first. If it is stress related, then Prozac might be most helpful, if it is hereditary then Rogaine or Nioxin may hold it at bay for a little while, but remember that as the new hair comes in, more will continue falling out, might be an uphill battle.Does anyone know a product that's good for stimulating hair growth?
    I have always been told to take pre-natal vitamins, they seemed to help

    Is this true?Is it good for your hair to rub your scalp in small circles? I heard it stimulates hair growth too...?
    I'm not sure, but I did read once in the book ';tips from Helouise'; that balding people should rub a sliced onion in small circles on their head before bedtime, and it is supposed to stimulate hair growth. Probably won't do a lot for your love life though.Is it good for your hair to rub your scalp in small circles? I heard it stimulates hair growth too...?
